Dear Parents

 

As a Christmas treat, we are taking the Year 6 pupils ice-skating to the Ice Factor at York Designer Outlet on Monday 12^th December. We will leave school at 11 am in order to start skating at 11.45am and will be travelling by hired coach and return after lunch,therefore your child will require a packed lunch to eat when we return to school.  In order for this trip to go ahead, we require the sum of £5.50 which includes entrance to Ice Factor plus coach fare.

 

The necessary risk assessments will be carried out prior to the visit, and there will be sufficient teaching staff and adults on hand in order to ensure a safe environment for your child. The ice rink will be closed to the public, and we have hired it just for our Y6 children.  However, due to the nature of ice-skating, you should be aware of the likelihood that your child may slip or fall on the ice. Therefore, we cannot guarantee that he/she will avoid such incidents.  If you have any concerns or queries regarding this school trip, do not hesitate to contact us.

 

Please find attached a Parental Consent Form from Ice Factor to be completed and returned to school, children who have not returned this form will not be able to skate.

 

Please complete the slip below if you would like your child to attend. If any parents would like to accompany us on the trip, please sign the slip below.

Dear Parents

 

Amazing Blue Project

As you may already know from the Newsletter,  the school is part of an Amazing Blue Project. The next academic year, February 28^th – March 3^rd,  the school will be visiting Lathener in Germany. Mrs Kenway and Mrs Gunnell will be taking part in this visit and we would like to extend the invitation to four children in Year 6. This is a wonderful opportunity to visit another country with the cost covered by the British Council.

 

There will be a meeting on Monday 12th December 2011 at 5pm to give out further information as to what the trip will entail for those parents who are interested.
