The following information is intended to address some of the questions you may have as to what

The Governing Body would define their role as being:

* To contribute to the continuous development of the educational experience of all the    children who attend this school and to seek to promote high standards of attainment.

* To develop a sound understanding of the relevant policies and procedures which underpin
the running of the school, bringing relevant previous experience to their decision making and being prepared to undertake training in other areas so that they can develop their role as a critical friend.
* To ensure sound financial decision making and budget management
* To have an overview of the standard of conduct with in the school and to ensure that
policies are adhered to when those standards are breached.
* To deal with parental complaints and ensure fair resolution of the issue raised. At times it  is not possible to uphold a complaint and this needs to be appropriately managed.
*To participate in the appointment of teaching staff and other key staff within the school.
