‘Amazing Blue Europe’ is a Comenius project that aims to promote European Eco-activities and co-operation between participating countries.

The partners involved are Germany, Slovakia, Sicily, Sweden, Finland, Spain, Poland, Norway, Slovenia, Italy, England, Greece and France. These are Primary, Secondary and mixed age schools.

We aim to share our own Culture, Art, History and Tradition through co-operative work between schools, students, teachers and communities. Ecology will be our common ground of research and each school will approach this theme by promoting a specific school project.

‘Amazing Blue Europe’ will promote the use of ICT in order for partners to share their work and promote intercultural understanding and awareness. It will help students, teachers and communities to understand the importance of diversity, to develop citizenship and build a European spirit based on cooperative joint work. It aims to develop the understanding that different people can enrich us and to value each others cultures and traditions.

Work will be published on the project webpage www.abe.babinovo.sk

We aim to promote the study of European educative systems, allowing the sharing of methods and strategies which may promote changes and good practise inside schools.

‘Amazing Blue Europe’ is funded by the European Council and our obligation is to ensure that the project aims are achieved through regular reports and the collection of evidence.

An essential part of this funding is to promote the travel of students and teachers in order to better understand each others cultures and schools. Our legal obligation is to ensure that at least 24 persons travel to another European country during the two years of the project. These can be students, teachers and other people/staff connected to the school or project.

We are planning to take students to Italy in April and Slovakia in May.

A general meeting will be held at Lakeside School in December 2011 when we shall welcome all our partners, teachers and children.

Through participation in ‘Amazing Blue Europe’ we aim to encourage our school community to change their habits and work together to become a sustainable school.
