This term in Reception our themes are 'traditional tales' and 'our senses'.
 
We are studying our bodies, our families and growing up. We will be looking at the Three Little Pigs, Goldilocks and the three bears and The Gingerbread Man.

Personal, Social
and Emotional
We are looking at our feelings and
how to be sensitive to the needs, views
and feelings of others.
We are also developing our
respect for each other
and will consider the consequences of
our words and actions for ourselves
and those around us.

Communication, Language
and Literacy
We are learning to retell stories
in the correct order and getting
more confident in talking to other people.
We will start to listen to the
initial sound in a word and learn
which letters represent these sounds.
We are also practicing writing
simple regular words.

Mathematical
We are looking at number names
and recognising the numbers 1 - 9.
We are also learning about shape
and space by playing with diffent shapes.
Some of us will be counting aloud in 10s.

Knowledge and Understanding
of the World
We are finding out about past
and present events in our own lives and
those of others.
We are using the Three Little Pigs
as the inspiration to build things for a purpose.

Physical
We are looking at pushing, pulling,
retrieving and collecting objects.
We are also responding to rhythm
and music using movement and gestures. |
Creative
We are singing our favourite songs, enjoying dancing
and smelling, touching, feeling and
listening to different things.
We are also playing a
variety of musical instruments. |
